Basic Obedience Training & Socialization for Puppies and Small Dogs
WHY should you take training classes with your puppy?
Before your eyes, that adorable little puppy you added to your family will grow into a larger adult dog! If you let those cute only slightly annoying habits continue, they will become the bad habits of a bigger, stronger adult dog. Adolescent begins in most dogs at SIX MONTHS! Sooner for small dogs, later for bigger dogs.
The best thing you can do for your pup and your family is establish a solid foundation of basic obedience and socialization which will build a stronger bond with your dog. After all, this is a lifelong commitment!
All BBDT workshops teach all the basics commands and manners and are designed with the focus on your needs and training goals! Do other trainers offer tips and training advice for the life of your dog?
Why is training so important?!
Training is the essential foundation to peaceful coexistence! Best Buddies will show you how to spend a few minutes each day 'communicating' with your dog and strengthening the bond. We'll show you how bad behaviors can be replaced with good behaviors.
Lack of training and the inability to correct unwanted behaviors is most often what lands a potentially great dog at an overcrowded shelter.

Teaching a dog and giving the owner the tools needed to succeed will make for a long, happy relationship with your ‘best buddy’!

What happens in puppy/small dogs training?
In this workshop participants will gain a solid foundation of the important core commands and enjoy fun games! Everything we do in class strengthens the bond between you and your pup, which makes for a much better learning experience!

Some may wish to continue on with additional classes.
We recommend Obedience and Socialization for Adolescents & Older Dogs which will cement the foundation established in Basic Obedience Puppy/Small Dogs Training. You can go all the way through and attend Best Manners as well!
How old does my dog have to be to attend puppy class?
This class if for puppies between 8 weeks and 6 months, and small dogs under 15 lbs regardless of age. (Unless the owner prefers adolescent class for their small dog). Basic obedience and social skills are taught. You can never start too early socializing your pup or establishing a solid training foundation with your new family member!
For your puppy's safety, please be certain your pup is properly vaccinated, and your vet clears him/her to attend a group class. The easiest way to do this is by talking with your veterinarian to make sure your puppy has had the vaccinations needed to support his/her immune system.

Professional, insured carers make sure your dog has a vacation as great as yours!
